School-Age Curriculum
Physical Development
- Large motor – indoor and outdoor activities including climbing, jumping, lifting, organized sports and creative movement.
- Small motor – craft activities, construction, creative movement
Emotional Development
- Self esteem – verbal reinforcement, acknowledgement of feelings and moods, use of films, appropriate books, and self-expression.
- Independence – encouragement of self-motivated and individual activities.
Social Development
- Behavioral skills – discussion of limits and expectations.
- Interactive skills – group cooperation with games, dance, songs and on field trips. Helping staff and other children.
Intellectual Development
- Language – encourage conversations, story telling and reading.
- Cognitive – science and nature activities, cooking, math, board games, blocks, and trips.
- Creativity – expression of ideas, art and story telling.
