Infant Curriculum
Physical Development
- Movement – by encouraging rolling, scooting, crawling and walking with the use of a variety of tools supplied in the classroom.
- Balance – supportive sitting, swings, infant seats, chairs and most importantly with one on one support.
- Adequate rest – allowing sleep as needed and directed by the parents.
Emotional Development
- Security – responding to expressed needs.
- Love and Care – touching, holding, changing, playing and holding during feeding.
Social Development
- Interaction – helping the children to play parallel with others in a supervised group.
- Behavior skills – children cannot yet mediate themselves, therefore they may need to be redirected during disagreements.
Intellectual Development
- Language - shared conversation with children through all interactions
- Cognitive – demonstrating cause and effect.
- Creative – allowing children to interpret the process so that the product is as individual as the child making it.
